New Portfolio!

Hi Everyone, Yes, I know I’ve been gone. No excuses. So, onward! I’ve been in the process of taking some new photos for my new interior design portfolio which you may notice the menu item at the top of the page. Its been so long since I added anything to my site, it took me…

Wow, what beauty! Both you and Peggy have impeccable taste! I’m moving soon to go to graduate school, and I cannot wait to decorate my apartment! Of course, my space will be much smaller than Peggy’s and my budget will be much more limited, but looking at these pictures is like porn! In a good way?

I’m so glad Cale is safe after the bombings. It’s been hard to swallow that something like this has happened… again.

Be well,

Hi, Laurel -

Welcome back from being gone so long!!! :)

You are very, very talented! And I hope you are very, very busy :) But not crazy, stressful busy.

All the rooms are beautiful AND look comfy. Thank you for sharing the resources. That was very generous.

The family room is really sophisticated. I’ve never painted a room that dark. Love it!!! Love how the rug pops there.

PS – Great photos!!

wow! I’m just speechless. (for once) lol. You’re like my idol, so any praise coming from you kind of really takes my breath away! :] I do love trying new things and the dark blue
kinda just came to me for this job and it really works, doesn’t it? Originally, I was thinking of a pale grey, but then, with the rest of the home, and white kitchen, I realized that
we needed to go in another direction. It really helps to also have a client with wonderful taste who wasn’t afraid to take a chance! I remember that her mother was horrified when she heard
that we were going to be painting the walls dark blue, but when it was all done, she came over and absolutely loved it! Another great thing about the deep color is that the TV really blends
into the wall!

Recently, I’ve been doing a LOT of color. I guess my “problem” is that I love so many different things.

xoxo,

Laurel

Laurel’s Home is beginning to take shape!

I started this over three weeks ago! No excuses. Okay, biz is going very well. Thank God! One day, I am going to make a board for my new place… but for now… Here are some more things I’m putting in my living room. My antique Zuber screen  and newly acquired ottoman from Serena and…

Wow! You certainly have some beautiful things in your house, not to mention great taste! But I guess that’s probably part of the Interior Designer job description, right? I really like those Windsor Smith-pattered chairs. One of the things I’m really excited about happening in the next couple of months is getting to decorate whatever apartment I move to. In college I really didn’t pay much attention to it, but I’m going to probably be in the same place for 4-5 years (as opposed to changing dorm rooms at the end of ever year), so I really want to make it a nice place. Plus, I’ll be 25. I think I can do better than using masking tape to attach 50 photos to my wall. :)

Anyway, the point is, your place is going to look great! Hopefully Peaches realizes that and respects your furniture!

Be well,

Hi, Laurel! Hi, Peaches :)

Peaches is just like Panda. He loves to eat and shred paper!! I hope you are all settled in! I still want that screen. In fact, I’m driving up tomorrow to CT to visit a jobsite. (Will be coming back the same day…….long, long day.) Since I’ll be so close, I might have to stop by and borrow that screen….and never return it ;)

Laurel! Hi!

Thank you so much for commenting on my blog! It was so nice to hear from you. As soon as I came back I saw that you hadn’t written in a while, so I was afraid you left too. But I’m very glad to see you writing here!

Happy belated birthday! And happy birthday to Aaron too! You look so adorable next to your sons. And your site is beautiful. Congrats, lady!

I’m looking forward to getting caught up with you. :)

Be well,

Hey stranger! Welcome back!! I’m glad Cale is okay. Is it Cale or Cole? Just checking……you are breathing all that greige gunk :)

Congrats on your first sale, Laurel!! Way to go.

Is that a painted Swedish demi-lune console in front of the window? BTW, the yellow wall color looks really pretty.

Hi Loi! It is Cale, like, Caleb, but without the B. Actually, what I discovered is that I had the brush setting on which was eating the carpet, so 90% of that is carpet fibers. I’ve read that dust is actually 80% skin. Cool! The demi-lune is from Wisteria (and I get a designer discount!) and I like it a lot, except it was supposed to be cream and its really more of a warm grey, which I like, but not in my room. I want to change it to a pale, celery color which isn’t really Swedish, I don’t think, but will look great with the rest of the colors. I’m working on a new post, because after much hashing (and rehashing), I’ve made some final decisions on what else is going in the room. I’m very pleased. Its quite fun!
